Onion bhaji


Ingredients

4 onions (cut into thin rings)
½ cup of gram (chick pea) flour
A few chopped curry or coriander leaves
1 green chilli, finely chopped
¼ tsp asafoetida
Salt to taste Oil as needed

Preparation

• Peel the onion and slice very thinly
• Add onion slices, curry leaves, green chilli, asafoetida and salt to the flour and mix
• well with the fingers until all the ingredients are sticking together

Method

• Heat oil in a pan for deep frying
• Make small balls from the onion, flour and spice mixture, flatten and deep fry until golden brown
• Drain well

Serve warm with the Madcaf coconut chutney
