Organise an event
Why not be creative and organise your own event and get friends and family involved. Don't forget to let us know what you are doing and send us a few pictures, so we can share them with other supporters and congratulate you on your hard work!
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
• An Indian dinner party or buffet for your friends & neighbours
• A Bollywood film night
• A sponsored walk or run
• A quiz night

AVI depends heavily on the involvement and support of its members and supporters. If you have relevant skills and experience and can commit some time, we would like to hear from you.
AVI's main need for volunteers is to help run the Madras Cafe. This is one of AVI's main fundraising activities, so it is important that we have a consistently good number of enthusiastic volunteers. The Madras Cafe sets up at WOMAD, which takes place in Charlton Park every year over a long weekend in late July, this year from 24-26th. It also caters for private functions across the country throughout the year. Please contact Jo Moss
Stalls and scarves
We are always looking for people to run stalls, sell scarves and other products made by our Indian partners.
We have abeautiful range of Indian scarves for sale and are keen to hear from people interested in selling these on behalf of AVI, in their workplace, to friends and family and at festivals and events. The silk and wool scarves are handmade by traditional weavers in the villages of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
In the office, volunteers can help with mailings, research, marketing, publicity, preparing newsletters, fundraising or organising meetings and social events. If you are keen to help please get in touch.
There are few opportunities for volunteering in India, mainly because all of the partners work in rural areas and in local languages. Lakshmi Ashram occasionally accept volunteers to help in the school and care for the land.
If you are interested in volunteering for AVI, please email the AVI office with your CV and set out your interest and we will get back to you.

Thank you for your support!
