There are many ways through which you as an individual can support our work in India:
Action Village India (AVI) is building a community of individuals interested in supporting people living in rural India to claim their rights and improve their standards of living. We do this by working hand-in-hand with our established Indian partners to develop projects in our key areas of impact. We send as much of your donations as possible directly to India to the women, men and children who really need it, keeping our overheads in the UK to a minimum with a very small dedicated team and working from a shared office space. All our projects are managed by Indian partner organisations.
You can also support us through organising your own fundraising event or through supporting and attending one of our fundraising events.
These are examples of what has been achieved with regular support for Action Village India’s work with partners across India. The life changing initiatives that can happen will naturally change with progress. Please, be part of the change.
If you are a UK Taxpayer, by ticking on the Gift Aid option you can increase your donation by 25% at no extra cost to you.

You can also fundraise for AVI and maximise your fundraising efforts through employer match funding. Matched funding is where your employer pledges a sum of money relating to the amount you have raised or donated. Not all companies offer matched funding, but many do as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

Contact UsLeaving a Legacy to Action Village India in your will can be a long-lasting and impactful way to make a real difference to the lives of some of the poorest women, men and children in rural India.
Your Will is first and foremost to protect those you care for, but it can also represent an opportunity to continue supporting the causes that are important to you.
AVI understands better than anyone that family and friends come first in one’s financial plans, which makes the gifts we do receive so greatly appreciated.
What motivates individuals to support AVI is: to enable the poorest in India to improve their standards of living: to promote access to basic services like water, education, justice and healthcare; to support people in helping themselves out of poverty by accessing and securing their rights..
Any gift left to AVI will be tax-free, so the money that would have gone to the Inland Revenue will be spent on funding projects in rural India. This is the case if you leave a percentage of your estate (a residuary gift) or a lump sum (a pecuniary gift). Either amount will make a real difference to the lives of families we support through our partners.
A legacy from you could transform the lives of some of the poorest people in the communities our partners work in, well into the future.
Every gift in every will makes a very real difference, however big or small.
By donating to AVI in your will, you can leave a lasting legacy to the people of rural India.
We would be grateful if you would consider letting us know that you have included Action Village India into your will. This will help us to plan for the future and we would also value the opportunity to thank you, and with your permission, keep you up to date with our work.

Asking friends and family to donate to AVI is a lasting and meaningful way to pay tribute to your chosen one.
There are two ways to hold a funeral collection. For online donations, open a tribute page quickly and easily.
You can also request collection envelopes that family and friends can use to make private donations. When all donations have been received, we will inform you of the total amount raised in memory of your loved one.
However you choose to give in memory of someone special, we are here to support you.
Contact UsPayroll Giving is a flexible scheme which allows anyone who receives their pay through payroll to give regularly and on a tax-free basis to the charities and good causes of their choice.
Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax so for every £1.00 that you give it will only cost you 80p, and if you’re a higher rate taxpayer it will only cost you 60p.
Payroll Giving (also known as Give As You Earn or workplace giving) is a valuable, long-term source of revenue for AVI and because it is tax free – it is a cheaper way for you to donate.
Over 9000 companies offer payroll giving – check if your company does at payrollgiving.co.uk

Read MoreAction Village India’s guidelines on fundraising are guided by our partners’ social and ethical principles as members of the Gandhian movement in India.
All of Action Village India’s partners are engaged in campaigns against alcohol, none of them allow smoking on their premises and all promote non-violent change. Our partners’ stand on those activities means that Action Village India will not seek funding from individuals, companies, groups or organisations profiting by manufacturing and selling tobacco, alcohol or arms.
Action Village India’s partners work can increasingly be seen as supporting those whose homes, livelihoods and even culture are under threat by the processes of industrialisation and globalisation, also informs the guidelines. Action Village India will, therefore, not seek or accept funding from any companies whose activities are being actively opposed by communities connected with Action Village India in India.
By respecting these guidelines, Action Village India will minimise the possibility of seeking or taking funding from individuals, companies, groups or organisations which are involved in activities which run counter to its partners’ ethics and practice.
Please get in touch if there is any aspect of supporting AVI and our vital work across rural India that you would like to discuss or would like more information about.
